Doreen Weiss, MA, LPC

Doreen Weiss

Doreen is a Licensed Professional Counselor. She received her Master’s in Counseling from Indiana University of Pennsylvania and her Bachelor of Arts in Community Ministries from Geneva College. Doreen is called to walk alongside those hurting and to be a support as they make decisions to grow and heal. Doreen believes, inside and outside the counseling room, with support and “feeling felt,” people can feel empowered wherever their journey takes them. This journey can come from a painful place of domestic violence including abuse of a physical, verbal, sexual or financial nature. It can be the trauma of working through childhood sexual or physical abuse. Therapy can also be a journey out of depression and anxiety. Doreen is also a discipleship leader and teacher providing outreach to the local community. She is also a domestic violence educator providing training and workshops on domestic violence and abuse including tools for individuals, churches, and support groups. She has been counseling women suffering from domestic violence and relationship issues for over fifteen years. Doreen uses a biblical counseling approach and is certified in: Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, Addiction and Recovery, and Genesis Process. Doreen has specific training in trauma resolution and post-traumatic stress disorder. She is experienced in, but not limited to, depression, anxiety, crisis counseling, and victims of domestic violence and sexual abuse. In addition Doreen has specialized training in Group Processing.
