Rachel is a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) who works out of her private practice, Nurtured Heart, and the Christian Counselors Collaborative (North Side office - 801 Union Ave, Pittsburgh PA 15212). Rachel also provides counseling services online. Rachel walks with people through a journey of self-discovery that contributes to healing, deepened spirituality and positive relationships. She works especially in the areas of relational processing, grief, stress, life transitions, anxiety and depression. She also does couples counseling. Rachel has intercultural experience from growing up as a missionary kid in Brazil. She gained her Bachelors in Sociology and a minor in Christian Formation and Ministry at Wheaton college in 2007. After college, she returned to Brazil to work with inner city kids and self-care resources for pastors. She moved to Pittsburgh in 2010 and proceeded to get her Masters in Social Work from the Univ. of Pittsburgh. Since then, Rachel has attained her clinical social work license. Rachel is an active member of a Christian church. She loves to include clients' spiritual journeys in therapy to the extent that the client so desires but works within the client's value system.
