Veta Farmer-McCoy

Veta is a Licensed Social Worker. She is a medical social worker at Magee Women’s Hospital. She earned her Master’s in Social Work (’75) from the University of Maryland. Post graduate training in family systems was provided through Western Pennsylvania Family Center (’90). She is a member of the Academy of Certified Social Workers (’83). During the span of her career, Veta has worked in various capacities in criminal justice, child welfare, mental health, drug and alcohol, and currently, in the medical field since 2000. She has supervised graduate level social work interns since 2008. Veta specializes in trauma and abuse with families, women, teens, and children. She also works with grief, depression/anxiety, addiction, and role transition issues. Veta has attended ACAC since 2000. She believes that God works through individuals to bring love, hope, and healing for His Glory. Veta is a native of Virginia and has lived in the Pittsburgh area since 1987. She has two adult children.
