Mary Hayes, MA, APC
Mary is passionate about working with married and unmarried couples in overcoming unhealthy relationship challenges. Her approach is to walk along side couples as they navigate through their problems and teach skills that enable them to obtain a more healthy relationship. Mary’s training and experience includes helping couples work through infidelity, infertility, rebuilding trust, developing and strengthening communications skills, and helping individuals through anxiety, depression and grief. She strongly believes that marriage is more than a commitment as it is a covenant. She and her husband have been married over 40 years.
Mary’s clinical internship was faith-based where she served clients from within the church as well as those in the surrounding community. Her counseling approach is Eclectic which includes the use of Gottman techniques, Faith-Integration, Hope-Focused techniques, Bowenian, Solution Focused and Emotionally Focused therapies. She believes that the application of faith in everyday life is essential and key within counseling for healing and growth for those who desire this integration. Mary has obtained her Associate Professional Counselor license in PA and is a certified SYMBIS (Saving Your Marriage Before It Starts) facilitator. (Note: SYMBIS is also very beneficial to those couples who are already married.) Mary is working toward credentialing as a licensed marriage and family therapist in Pennsylvania.
