Doreen Upshaw

Doreen received her Master’s degree in Professional Counseling with concentrations in Child and Family Counseling from Carlow University in 2016. She has worked and served extensively with children, women and families for many years beginning with her years as Nursery and Childcare Director at ACAC for 8 years, In-Home Family Counselor for Holy Family and currently as Director of Service and Leadership at The Pittsburgh Project, giving over sight to it’s Out of School Time programs, Summer day camps, and Homeowner services and care programs. These years of serving in both volunteer and work have given her the desire to help people on a deeper level by pursuing her degree in counseling. She has experience in play and art therapy, woman’s issues, domestic violence, grief, trauma, marriage, group therapy and various other mental health related issues. Doreen has a strong desire to see children reconnected to their fathers in relationship and is successfully facilitating a “Fathers Matter” and “Father Forum” programs to give fathers a safe space to share, take advantage of resources and receive counseling services. Doreen is the mother of 3 girls and 1 grandchild. Doreen has attended ACAC since 1999 and is currently supporting ACAC Expanded Influence efforts on the Fellowship 4:12 team at the Homestead PA church plant.
