Joel A. Makin is a seasoned Christian counselor with over a decade of experience in the field. He spent seven years training and studying under Dr. John Townsend, gaining valuable insights and expertise. As the Program Manager and Licensed Mental Health Counselor at Parkview Wabash Hospital since 2021, Joel has been instrumental in developing and expanding therapy services. He has also shared his knowledge as an Adjunct Professor at Concordia University-Irvine and Huntington University, where he taught Christian counseling in graduate programs and conducted intensive group psychotherapy.

Previously, Joel served as the Licensed Mental Health Counselor/Assistant Director at the Otis R. Bowen Center, focusing on patient engagement and leadership development. He has also worked as a Mental Health Counselor at Family Service Society Inc., where he conducted counseling and developed treatment programs. Joel is passionate about leadership development and has created groups that help leaders overcome barriers through a Christian approach to change, drawing on the theories of Dr. John Townsend and Henry Cloud.
